Electronics

The electronics market is composed of organizations involved in the manufacture, design and development, assembly, and servicing of electronic equipment and components.
Electronics is one of the fastest evolving and most innovative industries and also one of the most competitive. The research and development of new, superior products is of significant importance in the electronics market. The overall goal is to deliver electronic parts or products for sale but it is fierce competition to bring to market the newest technology first but also to not go under due to costs.

One of the ways the electronics manufactures have found that they can do this is with strategic partnerships.  In a June 2016 report, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) discusses the evolving technology equipment manufacturing landscape, noting that contract manufacturing is undergoing a shift. As original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) increasingly outsource product design and development to electronics manufacturing services (EMS) partners, they are able to reduce overall costs as well as shift fixed costs to variable costs, a key benefit in the race to control manufacturing costs. As stated above, that is one partnership area EMS is exploring but also many others.  Electronics manufacturing are facing many different challenges and opportunities in this market. They will need to find ways to balance controlling costs, meeting customer demands to become energy efficient, produce new technologies and develop eco-friendly electronics. Staying ahead of the major trends is important for survival in this competitive market.
